SUE HOLMES
Sue Holmes has chaired BSCT for many years now. Now an independent RE consultant, Sue grew up in London and originally worked as a research scientist, moving to Yorkshire in 1985. Once retrained as a Primary teacher, she taught in village schools, before co-writing the local RE syllabus, working for East Riding and York Diocese.
Sue lectured at Hull University for B.Ed and PGCE courses and worked with PhD students on the Spirit of the School research project. Her passion for the environment links art and design with natural elements. She has facilitated global conservation activities for UNEP international children’s conferences.
Sue enjoys her work as a BSCT trustee, in seeing the difference that caring Christians can make to young lives in school. She lives near Driffield, and worships at Norton Trinity Methodist Church. She regularly volunteers as a chaplain with an ecumenical team at York Racecourse.
